THE FRIENDS
“Experience Art – Support Art”, that is the motto of the ‘FREUNDE des Wallraf-Richartz-Museum und des Museum Ludwig’. For many decades the “friends” have supported the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum both in its upkeep and in its ongoing development. The Freunde are not only the oldest museum association in Cologne, but with over 6,000 members also the largest.
Apart from a wide-ranging programme of events at the two museums, the Freunde also provide financial support for new acquisitions, and for the publication of the Wallraf-Richartz-Jahrbuch and other titles. In addition, the friends’ honorary involvement in all the museum’s initiatives is an important factor – not only for the info stand and guided tours, but also its programmes for entrepreneurs and younger audiences.
